The director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is warning that a violent Venezuelan gang has resurfaced in Tennessee.

In Operation Crime and Justice, more questions arise after a FOX 17 news report that a well-known Venezuelan gang is invading Tennessee cities. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) used a state budget hearing this week to issue a warning about this brutal group.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - State leaders are warning of a dangerous gang that formed in prisons in Venezuela called Tren de Aragua that has been spotted in all major cities in Tennessee. TBI Director David Rausch said the gang has been known for human trafficking and bringing Venezuelan women to the United States and Tennessee illegally.

TBI Director David Rausch told Governor Bill Lee that Venezuelan gang "Tren De Aragua," or "TDA," is behind human trafficking rings, drug trade and organized retail theft cross the state of Tennessee.

Two months after 33-year-old Nilzuly Arneaud Petit of Texas was kidnapped and killed, three suspected members of a Venezuelan street gang were arrested.

According to Rausch, a Venezuelan gang named "Tren de Aragua" has been spotted in metropolitan areas across the Volunteer State.
