Klay Thompson has enjoyed a strong start to his life with the Dallas Mavericks. The four-time Golden State Warriors champion chose to join the Western Conference champions at the start of free agency.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr originally confirmed the scrapped plans for the Curry speech ahead of Tuesday's game. Kerr revealed that Curry and Thompson concluded, following their conversation, that "no words [were] necessary" and that there was "going to be enough emotion already" in the arena.

Former teammate and current Warriors star Draymond Green revealed that Curry pulled a page out of the Michael Jordan playbook and took it personally when Thompson “ghosted him” ahead of his much-anticipated return to the Bay Area in Tuesday’s 1120-117 Warriors win.
